Gr’s Summary

Aiden Grant has a killer kiss.  Literally. And it’s not every reaper who gets to work with the Sixteenth President. Sure, Honest Abe likes to throw out history lessons with reaping assignments, but when you’re favored by the ancients, grim reaper life is pretty sweet for a newly dead seventeen-year-old.

Then things get messy.

Aiden is assigned to reap the soul of Bee, the only girl he has ever loved. When Aiden’s kiss of death fails, intertwining their souls, she is still very much alive and they are both in trouble. The ancients want Bee, who has special powers of her own, and they’ll do anything to get her.

Some rules are meant to be broken, even if that means Aiden must bargain with his own soul to save Bee. Who knew the afterlife could get so complicated?

The Way I See It

Deadly Kisses was a fun and entertaining read.  The way the story ended leaves a lot of stuff unanswered so I am hoping there will be another book to follow.  Having said that at least there isn’t some sort of awful cliffhanger ending!  Whew!

D-elicious, is the way Bee tastes to Aiden upon their first kiss.
E-vil.  The intentions of the Ancients with Bee.  I want to see them fail.
A-varice, Ivans greatest sin, will be his greatest undoing.
D-eath, Aiden has sworn to protect his love, at the cost of everything.
L-ove, their connection, and bond will be their greatest weapon against the corrupt.
Y-earning to be with the one he loves knowing it will kill her.

K-neeling, bound to a monster, and a slave for all time.
I-ndependent, and courageous.   Bee refuses to give up!
S-trength, is what Aiden, and Bee have to draw from eachother, to get through this.
S-urrendering, because his will to fight her is too week , and his love is too strong.
E-ntrapment, caught in a corner they will have to fight their way out.
S-in, everything is about to come full circle.   There are plans that have been set in motion, and those that have been lead astray, will have a hefty price to pay.

This was a different type of paranormal read for me, and I enjoyed all of the characters' roles.  I felt everyone played their part well;  broken mom, butt-head brother, absentee father...Everyone complimented the story well. I really want to get to the bottom of all of this.   Jaleb will come into his own, and hopefully kick major butt!  I’m looking forward to more from this Author.

My Fav’s

Bee
She is kind, loving, supportive and light.  It is hard to believe she has been around death her whole life.  I admire all of her virtue's, while having to grow up seeing horrible creatures.  She has a way of helping everyone around her.  Most of all,  she has loved, and helped Aiden since childhood.

Aiden
He is a self-sentenced murderer, who carries nothing, but regret.  He has only ever  loved one person.  I really enjoyed his character, because of his flaws.  He is broken, but not passed the point of no repair.  I enjoyed seeing how much he cares for Bee, and she for him.  I chuckled every time they would get close, and have to pull away.

My Rating

4.0 Scythe, Vanilla and sweet tarts, Pink Gondola, Cursed family, Chaos riddled plane, White light, Blood stone filled stars!  For a look beyond life, and what happens in between, I recommend this book!
