My Take on this Journey:
Given to You, by Carlie Sexton was another great book in the Killer Next Door Series! Ms. Sexton does not disappoint. Given to you takes off from where Taken by You leaves off. Porter, the man that was hired to protect Kate at all costs, has been shot in the neck with a tranquilizer by the ever clever Roger. As Kate walks out of the Spa, where Neil has sent her for a day of pampering, Roger abducts her, and threatens her to behave or he will kill Neil. Kate plays the game, though she is frightened out of her wits. Roger has tranquilized his child, Jacob, so he won't ask any questions, and he is in the back seat of the SUV. Kate is appalled when she realizes what he has done. Roger takes them to his sisters cabin in the mountains, where he plans to get his way with Kate once and for all.
Meanwhile, Neil is setting up the romantic evening to pop the question to Kate, not knowing that something has gone terribly wrong with his romantic plans. When Neil finally figures out what is going on, all chaos breaks loose, and leads on a wild ride to save the day! This is a fantastic whirl wind of a story, with lots of intrigue, lust, love, rapture, danger, death, and crazy, nightmarish psycho-killer escapades!!! You will not want to go anywhere without looking around first.
Ms. Sexton does it like only she knows how. The characters are well rounded, including the secondary characters, which were essential to the story. How she created such a scary, manipulative, psychotic character as Roger is beyond me. He is calculating, sick and pathetic. The women that enter his life, never see the light of day. Frightening to think that there are people out there that can fool a person so easily. It is amazing how he looks gorgeous, is very kind and alluring to women, and then the cold black eyes come out, and he turns into the black hole...void of feeling, character, compassion, or love, except for his son Jacob. Ms. Sexton's writing is flawless, and it is evident that she has done her homework to come out with yet another blockbuster novel in this series.
There is a lot of drama in this segment, and some sad realizations. Humor is one of the great components that that will have you smiling and laughing out of nowhere. The sex scenes are delicious, and Neil is cotton candy on a stick! You will fall in love with the characters, as I have, and want to get to the next segment in a hurry. I read this straight through...just couldn't put it down. Kate has to deal with so many hardships in this segment, and there are some times where your heart will be broken for her. Charlie, Mitch, Mac and Natalie come to life in this novel. You will be enveloped in there lives, and want to reach out to each and every one of them.
Looking forward to the next addition to the series, Beholden to You, the continuing saga, which will be telling the story of Mac, (Neil's best friend) and Natalie, (Kate's friend.) I give Given to You, by Carlie Sexton, 5+ Amazing, Brilliant, Suspenseful, Courageous, Lust Filled Stars!!!

Carlie Sexton has had a passion for reading her entire life. She loves it so that she dedicated her life to educating children. As a teacher, she has had the profound pleasure of teaching children to read and explore their imaginations through a good book. Just recently she decided to write a story that had been on her mind. Now she has several that she wants to turn into additional books. Writing has become a passion that she dearly loves.
Carlie lives with her handsome husband in Southern California. They enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that California provides. They have two beautiful dogs, but no children.
