My Review:
I have been anxiously waiting for this book since the moment I turned the last page of Layers. The second installment of the Stark Series does not disappoint!
Layers left us with a big cliffhanger and Inner Core picked up about two weeks after the intense finale of Layers. After being away from Hayley, Daniel realizes that he can't live without her. He travels to Chicago and decides to win her back at any cost. Hayley has been living a nightmare for the past two weeks. On the family side, her brother has been missing and she has been praying day after day that he survived the suicide bomber that exploded next to his platoon's convoy in Kabul. On the personal side, she has been numb since Daniel turned his back on her. When she goes back to her parents' house after needing time to clear her mind, Hayley can't believe that Daniel is standing in front of her. He has come to deliver the good news that her brother is safe and also to let her know that he came back to fight for her. He will do whatever it takes to win her back. Hayley has mixed feelings about how fast she can forgive and forget. They go back home and give their relationship another try. Giving love a second chance does not necessarily mean that everything will be back to what it used to be. Hayley and Daniel's journey is filled with tears, fears and heartbreak. They will have to give it their all to overcome these obstacles that prevent them to fully love and trust each other.
Inner Core was an amazing sequel. After having some trust and communication issues in the past, Hayley and Daniel are working hard on building a relationship without any secrets. In Layers Daniel was acting like a psycho. A lovable psycho might I add. This time around it's Hayley's turn! I guess she learned from the best ... lol!!! OMG!! She drove me crazy with her insecurities. You could clearly see that Daniel was a changed man, even if at one point of the book I wanted to knock him out with my kindle after finding out what secret he was keeping from Hayley :/ Not cool Daniel!!!!! We really get an inside look at every layer of their new relationship. We get to know more about Hayley's insecurities and also about Daniel's physical and emotional scars. Even if these two nuts drove me crazy I love them to pieces! Their chemistry intensified in this book. You could feel that they can't live without each other. I was cheering loud and clear that I was TeamDaniel from the very beginning. He gave 100% of himself in this relationship. He may have made mistakes in the past, but he's doing everything in his power to make things right.
This book was filled with emotional, intense, sexy and even funny moments. The banter between Hayley and her two best friends, Tasha and Ian was HILARIOUS!!! I LOL so many times that I lost count! The last few pages of the book had my heart beating fast and I was at the edge of my seat. I was crossing my fingers that everything would work out and that Hayley and Daniel would finally get their HEA. I really liked how Hayley and Daniel's story evolved and the epilogue in both POV was amazing!

I give, Inner Core, by Sigal Ehrlich 4.5 fantastic, funny, emotional, sensual stars! The Stark Series is beautifully written and captivating!
