Synopsis:

Pretending to be something they’re not, afraid to trust anyone completely, destined to tear each other apart– this is the story of unlikely love and unbearable consequences.

Sig Locke is a cop. He was raised by a cop and all his brothers are cops. He bleeds blue, believes in right and wrong, and sees in black and white, never in shades of gray.

But that was before he met Tommi.

Tommi, with her long legs and bright green eyes, she captured Sig’s interest from the moment he saw her. Even after he discovered who she was–the girlfriend of a drug dealer, the beauty behind a criminal–he still found her utterly irresistible. What Sig doesn’t know, however, is that she has a secret even a cop can’t uncover.

Tommi Lawrence hasn’t had an easy life, and it only got more complicated the day she met Sig. She learned long ago that she can’t trust anyone. Her gut tells her that Sig is no exception, her heart tells her that he is. But that was before she found out his real identity.

Can love be forged in a fire of lies? Or will the truth destroy them both?

My Thoughts:

All Things Pretty completely blew me away!!!  I have to say that the Pretty Series is phenomenal, and one of my absolute favorites!  I was so excited to see that we were getting Sig (Sloane's brother's) story!  Sig has been a favorite character of mine since he was first introduced.  He's fun, hilarious, and has swagger for days.

Sig's leading lady is Tommi, a gorgeous knockout, with an air of mystery, and a ton of secrets.  Her boyfriend is Lance, a powerful, scary, controlling, and dangerous drug lord who has escaped judicial justice time and again.  A chance encounter between Sig and Tommi leaves a lasting impression on them both.  Sig is a well established cop who has wanted the opportunity to prove himself to his captain, and become an undercover cop.  He proposes that he goes under cover, get's close to Tommi, and be given the chance to finally bring Lance down.  One of Sig's undercover peers vouches for him, and he is landed a spot as Tommi's bodyguard.  As these two get to know each other, passion's flare, and danger is around every corner....

All Things Pretty was amazing!!!  The ending just about killed me!  It was a double whammy cliffhanger and a to be continued ending.  Where's part two?!!!  I need it now!!!  One of Tommi's secrets is something that I never saw coming!  Talk about a jaw dropper!!!  I know there has to be an explanation for this secret, but can I say that I reread that part 5 times!  I was so shocked that I was trying to figure out more by the clue that was revealed.

Sig and Tommi were wonderful character's, as was Tommi's younger brother, Travis.  Sig was his usual entertaining, sexy, and fun self.  His name should come with a swoon alert.  Whew!!!  Sig has to be at the top of every romance readers book boyfriend list.  As far as poor Tommi, I loved her too!  I was dying to know what secrets she harbored, why she couldn't trust anyone, and why she would subject herself to a scumbag like Lance.  She was a very interesting character.  She was very vulnerable, yet at the same time exuded strength and resiliency.  She would do anything for her family, and was a very selfless individual.  Her brother Travis had Aspergers, and he was well written and his special need came through as realistic and authentic.  My daughter has A.S.D (Autism Spectrum Disorder,) and I'm very familiar with the various types of Autism.  I tip my hat off to Ms. Leighton!  She never ceases to amaze me and surprise me with her brilliant writing!

My Rating:

I give, All Pretty Things, by M. Leighton, 5 Sexy, Dangerous, Suspenseful, Addictive, Passionate Longing Filled Stars!  Read the Pretty Series!!!  It is sure to become one of your favorite's.  It has it all; romance, seduction, danger, secrets, suspense, plot twists, and great characters!!!  You won't find any better!!!

~Tommi

"You act like it'll be easy as pie for you to keep your hands your hands off me.  I'm thinking it's going to be pure hell for both of us.  I mean, have you met me?  I'm pretty damn irresistible."  (eARC, Loc. 1870)

Excerpt:

I still hear the music from the club; it’s just a little more muted. But now, I also hear laughing and moaning. It’s coming from upstairs. And it sets my teeth on edge.

I mount the steps, pausing at the top to look left and right. The stairs don’t dump directly into the balcony. There’s a small anteroom before it, and I can see another open doorway. It leads into a private bathroom. I can see the vanity mirror and sink.

The next song that comes on is sexy as hell, Don’t Tell ‘Em. Under different circumstances, I’d love to have this playing when I’m with Tommi. But not tonight. Not like this.

I ease around the rail that tops the steps and press against the wall to get a sidelong glance into the balcony room. My jaw drops open and hangs there, stunned wide.

There’s a stage up here as well. A smaller version of the one downstairs. And Tommi is on it. Her ass is pressed to the pole, back arched, eyes closed. Her fingers are threaded into the hair of a brunette. Looks like she’s licking one of Tommi’s nipples. Tonin is on a couch to the left of the stage, watching the show as the blonde who I must’ve seen from downstairs sucks his cock. His palm is on the back of her head, pumping it up and down, as he eyes Tommi and the other girl on the stage.

So this is what he likes. This is what he has her do for him. While I hate the thought of him seeing her, of him possibly making her do stuff like this against her will, I almost hope this is what gets him off, that he never lays a hand on her otherwise. Just watches other women do it. Maybe this is what she does to get what she needs from him, whatever that is. Because I know there’s something. Right now, Tonin is saving her from…something. But who’s going to save her from him? Or from herself?

I can’t stop my eyes from drifting back to the stage. The brunette is making her way down Tommi’s stomach, her hands plastered to the round ass that I so often admire. Tommi’s eyes are still closed, her body swaying slightly to the sensual tune, but not necessarily like she’s enjoying what’s happening. She looks to me like she’s checked out, like she’s somewhere else. Thinking of something else. I wonder again if this is what Tonin makes her do. Maybe it’s what she has to do to keep him from putting his dick in her. Hell, if that’s the case, I don’t blame her. I’d let a hot chick lick on me all day long if it saved me from Tonin. Of course, I’d let a hot chick lick on me all day anyway, but that’s not the point.

The brunette pulls Tommi’s lacy panties from one hip and I let my eyes wander back up a flat, golden stomach to pale-white, creamy breasts that are absolutely perfect in every way. They’re plump and high and topped with dusky pink nipples that are just the right size. At the moment, they’re hard as damn rocks, too.

My cock stirs in my jeans and I think to myself that I should go back downstairs. Tonin would be mad as hell if he found me up here creeping on his party, but I can’t tear my eyes away from Tommi. She’s the sexiest, most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Her skin is flawless, her body exquisite. Every long, tall inch of it.

I pull my gaze away from her tits to find her face. Her eyes are open now. And focused on me.

Excerpt:

Her lips are still curved when she turns her attention back to me. Something about the moment hits me like a punch to the gut. I think for a second that I could stand here and stare at her, just enjoy her smile and her happiness for hours. Days, maybe. But I can’t. We can’t. So, instead, I brush a clump of mud from the end of her nose. “Have fun?”

“I did. Thank you. This was so good for him.”

“And you.”

“And me,” she concedes.

“You can be the real you around me anytime. I won’t tell a soul.”

“So you prefer this?”

“Oh, hell yeah! I don’t need glamorous. Or proper.”

“I’m not proper.”

“You forget that I heard your…expressiveness that day on the side of the road. And it didn’t consist of ‘darn’ or ‘golly gee’. But I haven’t heard anything like that come out of your mouth since then.”

“Ladies aren’t supposed to talk that way, according to Lance.”

“I don’t want a lady. I want a woman. One who knows her own mind. One who wears what she’s comfortable in, one who says what she’s thinking.” I take a step closer. I can’t help myself. Her scent draws me in. Even covered in mud, she smells like sexy sunshine. “I want the woman who kisses like she’s on fire and makes me feel like I’m the only one who can put her out.”

“Sig,” she begins.

I break in to cut her off. I know her objections. And I know how much I don’t want to hear them. “I’m just being honest. I’m not even touching you.”

Her eyes are glued to mine, a damn near irresistible gravity pulling us together. “It’s not like you can anyway. I mean, we’re in public. With my little brother. What could you possibly touch?”

I reach down and smear my hand in mud. With her eyes locked on mine, I reach between us and flatten my palm on her chest, right over her heart. “This. I’d touch this.”

GR's Summary:

He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it. But she did. Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness…
Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.

My Review on All The Pretty Lies HERE

My Thoughts:

Are you looking for a hot, new, up and coming series?  One that is fast-paced, full of suspense, secrets, and will make you swoon?!!  Well, I am so excited to introduce you to the Pretty Series, by M. Leighton.  This author can write and she has given me a strong case of the, "feels" with this series!  The first installment, All the Pretty Lies, was about Hemi and Sloane.  It was such an amazing start to the series, that I was a little concerned if Ms. Leighton would be able to write a story that was comparable or superior to such a superb first installment.  Well, All the Pretty Poses, was just as phenomenal!  These are two books that I highly recommend, and will be telling all of my reading friends about!

In all the Pretty Poses, we are given the dual perspectives of Reese, (Hemi's eldest brother) and Kennedy.  Reese is a cocky, ambitious, and highly successful man.  Women throw themselves at him wherever he goes.  All he has to do is flash a little smile their way and they're his for the taking.  Women are willing to take whatever Reese is willing to give them, and he isn't willing to give them much.  He uses them to satiate his needs and then immediately moves on to the next one.  He never hears the word, "no" and is completely confident in his ability to get his way.  I must admit, Reese's arrogance, cockiness, and selfishness, really bothered me.  I wanted a woman to tell him, "no" and make him work hard for her trust, respect, and friendship.

Enter Kennedy!  She has had a very difficult life, has no family, and is just trying to pay the bills.  She is a hard worker, and doesn't really have many friends.  She had a horrible childhood, and got her heart broken when she was a teenager, after she fell in love with Reese.  He abruptly left her without even saying goodbye.  Therefore, she kept to herself, and threw herself in to her passion; dance, which she hoped to do one day professionally.  Reese is very wealthy and owns numerous high-end exotic dance clubs.  He visits each of his clubs about once a year to check on things, but for the most part they are run effortlessly by his hired help.

One night, when he takes Hemi, Sloan, and Sloane's brother, Sig, out to one of his clubs, he is shocked to see that the woman performing on his stage is Kennedy.  She is drop dead gorgeous, seductive, sensual, and a beautiful dancer.  Reese becomes aroused, and decides that he needs to have her in his bed.  Guess what?!!!  Kennedy tells him, "No!"  I loved how strong Kennedy was.  Her heart had been broken by him, but it was obvious that there was still something there between the two of them.  Reese, offers Kennedy a job.  If she will work on his yacht for the summer dancing, and doing odds and ends, he will get her an audition with the Altman American Dance Theater.  This audition can make Kennedy's dream come true, so while she is hesitant to accept the job, she does, with the condition that she will be on the yacht in a strictly professional capacity.  In other words, she will not fool around or sleep with Reese.  However, Reese has other plans, and he's willing to put on the charm and pull out all of the stops to get Kennedy in his bed.  However, he never counted on falling in love with her.

All the Pretty Poses was spectacular!  It was fast paced, and I was trying to turn pages slower near the end, because I didn't want to say goodbye to Reese and Kennedy.  Their story was beautiful, and there were moments where my heart broke.  The chemistry was extremely intense and the flirty banter as these too characters traded wits was fun and entertaining.  The emotional connection that Reese and Kennedy developed added a layer of depth to the story, and made the romantic in me jump for joy.  The intimate scenes between these two characters were explicit, sensual, sexy, and swoon worthy.  Reese grew immensely as a character.  Kennedy made him want to be a better person, and I could see that he was falling in love with her when he started breaking away from his old selfish patterns.

The plot of the story held my attention the whole way through.  There weren't any lulls, and Ms. Leighton was sure to constantly keep things interesting with plot twists that contained antagonists, and secrets that even the reader isn't aware of until the end of the story.  We get a little bit of Hemi, Sloane, and Sig (Sloane's brother) as they are on the yacht on their way to Hawaii for a vacation, and I loved seeing how in love and happy these two were.  I'm hoping we eventually get Sig's story as well.  Boy is he a smooth talker, and a charmer!

I give, All the Pretty Poses, by M. Leighton, 5 Spicy, Seductive, and Sweet Stars!!!  Add this series to your e-reader now!  You'll thank me later!!!

My Favorite Quotes:

" 'I've never forgotten you, Kennedy.  I've never stopped thinking about you, about us.  I want you.  And you know that.  I promise you,' he says, dipping his head to kiss my chin, 'that I'll make you want to come to me.' (eARC, Loc. 1320)

~Reese

"I'll love him until there's nothing left.  And then long after.  It's inevitable.  He's inevitable."  (eARC, Loc. 2414)

~Kennedy

"I've loved you from the moment I met you.  For fourteen years, I've loved you.  And I'll love you for a million more."  (eARC Loc. 2622)

~Reese
