Review:

Natasha Madison completely stole my heart when she released her first novel, Something So Right. I was excited to learn that a new book was coming our way. From the moment I read the blurb, I knew that it was going to be a story that would make me feel many emotions.

Bella and Lilah are looking for a new beginning. One where they can heal and be happy. When they leave the hell where they have been living, Bella is determined to keep Lilah safe and give her the life that she deserves. What she never expected was to have a sexy detective as a neighbour. Jackson makes her feel alive and makes her want more. As days goes by, Bella and Jackson create a strong bond. Jackson would do anything to protect Bella and Lilah. Will Bella be able to let go from her demons and trust Jackson with her heart?

Bella and Jackson are a couple that will completely melt your hearts! Their chemistry is strong and their relationship has many stages in this book. Their friendship blooms into a beautiful story that will leave your heart bursting with love. Bella’s story is not an easy one to read. Many times, I wanted to jump inside the book and give her a massive hug. My heart broke for her and Lilah. These two girls have gone through so much! They needed to find an HEA that would make them feel safe and that would heal their emotional scars. Jackson was protective, kind, loyal, and a passionate hero. He made me swoon so many times and I loved how strongly he loved Bella and Lilah. It took no time for him to fall under their charm.

I loved my reading escape! The main characters were amazing, the supporting cast fantastic and the story was a page-turning journey. I love following debut authors. It gives me a chance to see them grow as a writer and see the changes that they have made from one book to another. Natasha Madison’s writing style is captivating and will keep you turning the pages until the very end! I highly recommend this emotional book that will deliver all the feels.

Rating:

I give, Hell and Back, by Natasha Madison, 5 poignant, sensational, healing stars!

Excerpt:

I pull up in my driveway looking over at the house. What I see pisses me off.

Here she is in a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, hat and glasses pushing a brand new lawn mower.

I make sure I check my temper before I walk over. Right before I cross the street the little girl on the front porch stops me mid step.

She looks like just like her mother, just a smaller version. She is sitting on a plastic little table, that they probably just bought, coloring.

I make my way over to her right when the lawn mower goes off

“I told you I would cut the grass.” I try to sound casual, but the blood in me is boiling, it must be ninety-five degrees outside, and she’s wearing enough clothes for a trek across the frozen tundra.

She looks up “I also said I got it, and I would be doing it myself.” The little girl from the porch makes it to her mother and hides behind her, yanking on her pant leg.

The fearful look that she gives me is just like her mother’s. I crouch down, getting eye-to-eye with her and say “Hey there, beautiful. What’s your name?” She doesn’t reply, and instead she lowers her gaze so she is looking at her feet. “I’m Jackson,” I reach out my hand, but drop it when I know she won’t take it. I gesture behind me, as I say “I live in that house right over there. I used to know your great grandma.” I’m trying to draw her into a conversation with me, but nothing I say engages her.

“It’s ok baby, you can tell him your name. Nan used to make him cookies, so you know what that means, she must have really liked him.” She rubs her daughters shoulder.

“I’m Lilah,” she says in barely a whisper.

“That is the most beautiful name in the whole wide world. You’re lucky to have such a beautiful name.” She smiles at me, right as a car back fires. She yells and puts her hands to her ears.

Two things happen at the same time, her mother grabs her and runs toward the house, and I vow to protect them.

“Wait,” I rush after them and make it right to the door before it’s closed in my face. I stand there inside the house and watch them rushing to the corner and hide.

Two broken girls protecting each other against some monster of the outside world. I walk up to them “It’s ok, it’s just a car, it was nothing but a car.”

“Lilah, baby it’s ok, it’s ok. I’m here. It’s ok baby girl, were safe.” She is trying to comfort the little girl who is sobbing quietly in her mother arms. “No one is here baby.”

She looks over at me, our eyes meeting for one minute before she lowers them again.

“Look it’s ok, it’s just Jackson. There is no one here, baby.” She rocks Lilah back and forth. Her back against the wall while she soothes her baby girl whose sobs are slowly stopping, her eyes closing.

“What can I do?” I’m now sitting in front of her not sure how to even start to dissect this.

“Nothing, you can’t do anything for us,” she kisses Lilah’s head. “No one can.”

I ignore that last part not sure how to talk about this now.

“I’m going to go outside and finish cutting the grass, then I’m going to go pick up some food for us. Does she like pizza?”

“Jackson, I don’t know what relationship you had with my grandmother, but I don’t need your help. We will be fine. Please, it’s ok, you can leave.” She rests her head on the the wall closing her eyes, the defeat of the day leaving her body.

“I’m going to go outside and finish mowing the lawn so Lilah doesn’t have to go outside anymore today. Then I’m going to pick up pizza for myself. You won’t have time to cook, so I’m going to pick one up for you. I want to eat with you guys, but I’m not pushing myself on you either after today. Now I don’t want to fight with you or even discuss this, so just nod that you understand?”

She looks into my eyes, but nods yes.

“I can pay you for the pizza? I have money. I don’t need a hand out,” she says while trying to push herself up to go get fucking money.

If she weren’t so scared of things I would punch the fuck out of something right now. “I don’t want your money, now or ever. I have no doubt you can take care of yourself. Consider this a housewarming present.” I get up going to the door not even giving her a chance to say anything else.

“She’s never had pizza before, so can you just get us plain cheese.”

I don’t say anything afraid of what will come out of my mouth. I nod and walk out the door, closing it quietly so as not to wake Lilah.

I close my eyes exhaling the breath that I didn’t even realize I was holding.

“She’s barely holding on while fighting for her life. She has demons, they both do. Whatever happened to them, it’s in there deep. The both of them are so scared, you can practically see the fear coming off of them.” I look over at Brenda who is on her porch watering her plants. “Tread lightly, Jackson, or better yet walk away if you aren’t going to do anything about it.”

I don’t have a chance to respond she walks into her house closing her front door softly, leaving me fighting my own demons.

Synopsis:

The moment everything changed didn’t happen in that cliché rockets-red-glare kind of way, it happened in the form of a waking nightmare. I caught my husband, my high-school sweetheart, the father of my children, balls deep in a sordid affair.

That was when I gave up on men and love.

I didn’t count on the NHL’s golden boy, the beautiful, arrogant Cooper Stone turning my life and my hockey rink upside down.

My kids are why I wake up in the morning.

Hockey is what Cooper breathes for.

We’re from different worlds and places in our lives but when our hearts collided something so wrong and different turned into something so right.

**Something So Right is a Natasha Madison’s debut full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Parker & Cooper. She’s something sassy, he’s something badassy! Together they are Something So Right.**

Excerpt:

We pull up to the house way after everyone’s bedtime. Allison was asleep even before we pulled out of Meghan’s driveway. It’s been a long time I’ve felt this content.

I look over at Cooper, who looks far away in his thoughts.

He’s been like that all evening.

Once we get home, he quickly takes Allison out of her seat. Luckily she changed into her pyjamas before we left Meghan’s.

“I got her, babe, get the bags.”

Matthew is continuing his ‘celebrating’ by staying over at his friend’s house. Usually I would say no, but like Cooper said, it’s like he just won the cup.

“Okay.”

By the time I get inside and sort through all the wet things, I sense him before I feel him wrap his hands around my waist.

“Babe, come outside with me.” Something in his voice makes my heart pound. My hands are getting clammy just walking outside with him.

We get to the hammock, and he sits down on it, making it like a swing. His feet are on the ground in front, and the back of the hammock against his back halfway. “Sit on me,” he demands.

“I can’t. I’m going to throw you over.” I stand there in front of him. He rubs his hands up and down the back of my legs, kissing my stomach. I’m still wearing my sundress from this afternoon.

“I won’t make you fall, I promise.”

I comb my fingers through his hair, looking down into his blue eyes. They’re like the key to his soul, always bright. Tonight they look clouded, like a storm is brewing.

“Okay,” I whisper and straddle his lap. I’m surprised we don’t topple over, but Cooper has his feet planted on the floor, so we aren’t going anywhere.

“Baby.” I look at him. “You’re scaring me.” I’m sure he can hear my heart beating in my chest.

“I’ve never felt like this.” He whispers, “I’ve had women, many women, but none were like you.” He kisses my chest right above my breast.

“Okay.” I twirl his hair through my fingers.

“When I looked over at you today and saw you sitting with James, my breath caught in my throat.”

“Honey.” I pull his hair so he looks up at me. “James and I, we are the past. Way, way in the past.”

“You made a life with him, you made a home with him, you have kids with him.” His voice trembles.

“I had all that, I made a home with him. I had kids with him. He threw that away. He tossed it aside.” I’m trying to calm my nerves. I’m scared that this is it. This will be the last time that I hold him. “Cooper.” He looks up at me, and I snap, my heart snaps. “No, you don’t get to decide this, you don’t get to toss me aside because you think you know what I want or need.” My heart is literally hurting. It’s aching. I blink away the tears that are forming in my eyes, continuing what I have to say. “If you don’t want me, just say it, but don’t you dare try to cop out of this giving yourself a clear conscience.” I drop my hands to my sides, looking into his eyes. I lean forward, kissing his eyes. “I’ve had many years with a man who not only looked through me, he passed by me, not stopping to look at me. But you, you see me.”—I kiss his cheeks—“I’ve had many years not smiling. Now I smile so much my cheeks hurt. I smile for no reason at all. I smile at you and because of you”—I kiss his lips—“I’ve had many years of little kisses, but none of them made my heart flutter like yours, none of them left me breathless because of them, none of them I longed for.” I can’t stop the one tear that has rolled down my face. “I want you, I want this”—I point from him to me with my hand—“I want this more than I care to admit”—I put my forehead on his, our eyes watching each other—“I want you to want me,” I whisper the last part, my heart hoping that he does pick me, that he picks us.

“I want you,” he says softly. “I want all of you. I want your mornings. I want your afternoons. I want your nights. I want your tomorrows, baby. I want it all. I was so scared you would want what you had, and not want what we have.”

I don’t say anything anymore. I just lean in, kissing his bottom lip, hoping he opens up for me, and he does. He opens so our tongues touch each other, and I know I’m home.

I want to get under his skin and it still wouldn’t be close enough. I fumble with his shirt, trying to rip it off his body. When my hands touch his chest, I make little traces of imaginary infinity signs all down his chest, hoping he feels it. He pulls down the tube part of my dress, bringing my bikini top with it. My nipples peak with the cold air on them. Cooper’s thumbs circle around my nipples, then he places his finger in the middle of my chest, making an infinity sign, all while looking into my eyes.

My need for him is all-consuming. He squeezes my breast, rubbing down to my ass. When both his hands cup my ass, he just palms it, pushing me more to him.

“Honey.” I’m stopped by his tongue invading my mouth. I’m invaded by his scent. His hand makes its way under my dress, moving my bikini bottoms to the side.

He enters me easily with two fingers, making me gasp. “Always ready for me, always.” With my head tossed back, he kisses down my neck with his tongue all the way to my nipple.

He takes it into his mouth, sucking deeply, sending shock waves all down to my core. “Honey, please.” I look down at him. “Be with me.”

He withdraws his fingers from me, then opens his shorts, freeing himself.

“Be with me, baby.” I lift myself till I’m positioned over him where I slowly slide all the way down, one inch at a time. I feel him stretching me open while he invades me.

I look into his eyes, hoping he sees what I feel. I move up and down again, all the while looking at him. He’s beautiful. He’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of, and he’s mine.

He picks me up by my hips, bringing me to the top of his dick before bringing me down again.

“Honey.”

He lifts his feet off the ground, making us swing back and forth, putting him deeper into me. It’s like we are on a swing, so I push back, making him go back, him pushing forward, both of us wanting to go deeper and deeper. I’m close, so close. I know he is too because I feel fuller.

“Honey, I want you with me.”

“Babe, I’m there.” He grabs both my shoulders, thrusting down on him where I come apart. I squeeze him, taking him with me. He is groaning out his release, all the while we look into each other’s eyes. His blue eyes are clearer than before, more at peace, more calm. He kisses me deeply while still in me, the aftershocks of my orgasm still squeezing him.

“Stay with me tonight?” I ask him.

“What about Allison?” he says, knowing that I never want to cross that line.

“It’s okay. We can set an alarm, wake up together. Say yes, please.”

“As long as I’m with you, it’s yes, it’s always yes.”

Review:

I'm always excited to read a book by a debut author. I love discovering their writing style and falling in love with their characters. Something So Right, by Natasha Madison, is a debut sports romance novel that captivated me from beginning to end! Her writing style is fantastic and her characters are simply irresistible! If you love sports romance, especially hockey ones, this is a romance that you will want to add to your TBR list. I was in a reading funk when I started this book. It took me no time at all to fall in love with this story and find my next page-turning reading escape!

Parker is going through a difficult moment in her life. The last thing she needs is a sexy NHL superstar to turn her world upside down. Love is the last thing on her mind. Cooper Stone is everything she wanted, but never expected. Cooper is anxious to start playing hockey again. After his knee surgery, he need to go to rehab and prepare for the beginning of the season. When he gets to the rink, the last thing he expected was to meet a feisty single mom who makes him lose control. As days go by, Parker and Cooper grow closer together and their chemistry is undeniable. Will Parker be ready to give love another chance?

Parker and Cooper had such and intense and sexy chemistry! From the moment that they met, you could feel the sexual tension between them. Readers will fall in love with Parker and Cooper. Parker is the kind of heroine I love to cheer for. She's strong, confident and knows exactly what she wants. Cooper is a hero that will make you swoon and make your panties melts with his dirty talk. *Ahem* Can I just say that the dirty talk between these two is out of this world DIRTAYY!! *Fans Face* Steamy moments guaranteed, but emotional and sweet ones as well. The bond that Cooper created with Parker and her kids was amazing! You could see that he deeply cared for them and wanted to give them the world. This couple did have a few obstacles to overcome to find their HEA. Their love for each other and the bond that they created made them a strong couple and nothing could stop them from being together.

The author delivered a story filled with many fun, steamy, emotional and tender moments. It was such a wonderful reading escape! This author is off to a great start and I will without a doubt read the other books she plans on writing. Always give a chance to a new author. You never know when you are going to find your next favorite author ;)

Rating:

I give, Something So Right, by Natasha Madison, 5 page-turning, sexy, swoony, romantic stars!
