Book Synopsis:

My life has revolved around the two things I've always loved: whiskey and rugby. Now the marriage clause in my Da's will has me putting both on the back burner if I want to save the Murphy's Pub empire and find a wife.

As the last brother to get married, I need a little help, and that's where my sister-in-law's American best friend, Leah, comes into the picture. She could use a little Irish luck after the deceitful things her ex did to her that brought her to Ireland. With her take-no-shite-attitude, she's just the type of girl to help me find a wife.

That is, if I can remember she’s the matchmaker and not the match.

My Thoughts:

Sean Murphy is in need of a wife and time is running out.  The clause in his father's will states that each of the three Murphy men have a year from their Da's death to get married, if they all want to inherit the multi-million dollar family pub franchise.  Sean is a star Rugby player, who has a passion and talent for the sport.  He would rather be playing Rugby than handling his responsibilities as the company president, and getting married.  However, Sean doesn't want to lose the family company or let his brothers down.

Sean has been extremely attracted to his sister-in-law, Fallon's American best friend, Leah.  However, she turned down his advances at his brother's wedding.  When Sean discovers that Leah has moved to Dublin and is working at one of the family's pubs as a bartender, sparks fly!

Leah needed a fresh start after she caught her boyfriend sleeping with her business partner.  When Fallon gave her a place to stay, offered her a good paying job, and the opportunity to get away, she snatched it up. She's attracted to Sean, but doesn't want to get her heart broken again.  When Sean offers her a position as his assistant, she can't turn down such a well-paying opportunity.  Her job will be to help Sean with his obligations regarding the family business, as well as assist him in finding a wife, before the allotted time runs out.  Leah knows that Sean isn't the man for her.  She just has to keep reminding herself, because she's never meet another man who makes her feel the way that he does...

Dirty Irish was a fun and fast-paced story.  I loved Sean's sexy Irish accent, slang, and endearments.  He was a really fun, and flirty character that brought a lot of light-heartedness and feel good moments to the story.  Leah was spunky, sassy, and witty.  She was very strong and independent.  I liked her character, and thought that Sean was her perfect compliment. One of my favorite aspects of the story was the banter between Sean and Leah.  I loved Leah's fiery spirit, and the way she kept Sean on his toes!

This story was a slow-burn romance, and I liked how the main characters developed a strong friendship.  Love snuck up on these two, and I was happy to be a part of their journey.  I enjoyed getting to know the Murphy Brothers and the loves of their lives, especially Fallon.  This story can be read as a standalone, but after reading it, I would like to go back and read the other two couples love stories as well, because it was such an enjoyable reading escape.

Book Teasers:

Excerpt:

Now, here I was, with a new beginning and purpose.

The position with Sean might not be my dream job, but it gave me the chance to find something closer to it. To figure out what I was going to do next.

After picking up a sandwich from a nearby cafĂ©, I continued to stroll the streets of Dublin, looking in storefronts and people-watching the businessmen who walked by.

I pulled out my phone and, like a glutton for punishment, looked through the dating app I’d loaded, where I’d posted Sean’s magazine cover photo as his profile picture.

A lot of random women and men were already sending messages and some very lewd photos. How the hell did they even know if this was the real Sean Murphy before they sent a picture of their goodies? Geez…

Okay, maybe dating sites weren’t the best bet for him, and I’d have to try something else.

Groaning in frustration, I decided to put the dating app to the back of my mind, like I’d been doing with everything else in my life, and open the word game app that I’d been playing.

Normally I just played random bots, but there was one name that made me smile as an opponent, even if I wouldn’t admit that to him.

Sean Murphy played the word whizbang for 76 points

What the hell? Was that even a real word?

I opened up the messenger on the same app and sent him a reply.

Leah: I feel like you’re just googling random words to see what will work.

His response was quick—and smart-ass.

Sean: Whizbang, according to Google, means a resounding success. Like I am at this game.

Leah: *Eye roll* Good thing you still have Google. How else would you score any points, since I know for a fact this game doesn’t take slang?

Sean: Find that out trying to use some American lingo? Like gotten? Why do people still use that anyway?

Leah: Did anyone ever tell you that you’re a pain in the ass?

Sean: Every day of my life.

I may have been snarky in our conversation, but I found myself smiling as I stared down at the screen.

It was easy to get lost when it came to talking to Sean.

So, lost I could forget that he was my best friend’s brother-in-law and my new boss who I was supposed to be finding a wife for. He had a future with rugby and the company.

We couldn’t be anything more than friends and in a business relationship.

No matter how much he made me smile.

Synopsis:

A sexy new M/M romance from New York Times Bestselling author Tessa Bailey

When CEO Renner Bastion walks into a room, everyone keeps their distance. Well, everyone but the sarcastic, tattooed, Boston-bred security guard whose presence has kept Renner in New Jersey longer than intended. As if the unwanted attraction isn’t unsettling enough, Renner finds out his protector isn’t as unavailable as originally thought.

Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Worldly, experienced Renner would never look in his direction, let alone share some of that confidence he wears like a cloak, so Milo has set his sights on someone else to be his first.

Until Renner offers him private lessons in seduction...

Review:

Reading the last installment of a series is always a bittersweet moment for me. I have loved each book in the Made in Jersey Series by Tessa Bailey. I will without a doubt miss all my Jersey peeps! Wound Tight, which is the last book of the series got me all kinds of nervous. I waited until the very last moment to read it because of two reasons. The first one was that I’m not good with goodbyes. I wanted this series to continue FOREVER! The second one was that it was going to be the first time I read a M/M romance novel. I’m always nervous/excited about reading a new genre.

Tessa Bailey is my security blanket in Book Town. No matter the genre she writes, she always makes me feel like I always belong next to the characters that she is so passionately writing about. From the moment she announced that she was writing her first M/M book, I knew that I was going to make Wound Tight my first M/M read. I knew without a doubt that she was going to make me fall in love with this genre just like she did with the all the other books that she wrote.

In this last installment of the Made in Jersey Series, we follow Renner Bastion and Milo Bautista. Sexy and intense owner of a factory falls for swoony and hot security guard? Yes, please! The passion between Milo and Renner was extremely intoxicating! I started fanning myself every single time they were in the same room. Milo is the sweet/tender kind of hero and Renner is the intense/passionate one. Like any other of Tessa’s couples, Milo and Renner had to overcome some obstacles to be together. This book was extremely hot and I was not surprised one bit! Tessa Bailey knows how to write some pretty wickedly hot steamy scenes! This story was filled many tender, sweet, sexy and hot moments between Renner and Milo. I loved how they grew not only as individuals, but as a couple as well.

The writing style was phenomenal like always, it was amazing to reunite with the other characters of this series and Tessa Bailey delivered a M/M romance that left me wanting more! This book can be read as a standalone, but Tessa Bailey put enough details about the past characters to make you feel comfortable about reading this book before all the other ones in this series. I will miss them so much! I’m extremely happy about the decision I made and picking Wound Tight as my first M/M romance novel. Tessa Bailey never disappoints!

Rating:
I give, Wound Tight, 4.5 sexy, tantalizing, double-dirty-talking stars!

About the Author:

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
