Stacking the Shelves & Sunday Post (46)

This week I read two books, and started two books simultaneously.  It was my best friends 40th birthday, so my sister, cousin, and I were busy all week planning her surprise party.  She loves sunflowers, so we decorated everything with sunflowers, and included all her favorites; lasagna, Mountain Dew, starbursts, a gigantic chocolate chip tollhouse cookie, and starbursts.  It was pretty fun and we spent a lot of quality time together.  My daughter kept getting in to the starbursts, cookies, and cupcakes, so she was on a sugar high, and wouldn't sleep.

My husband has this week off, and we're so indecisive, that we haven't figured out what we want to do for his vacation.  Also, we're wanting to transfer our lease to another apartment because the maintenance at my current apartment is horrible, and people are keying cars, sticking nails in car tires, and I am not liking the way the environment is changing in our neighborhood.

  1. I love Starbusts haha! Hope you guys have an awesome vacation, whatever you end up doing. :)

Neighborhoods can change and it's a bummer when stuff like that starts happening. Best of luck on making a change!

    Have a super week!

  2. That's terrible what is happening to the cars in your complex. I hope you are able to make the move. Sounds like you threw a great party, and what kid could resist all those delightful sweets.

  4. The surprise birthday party sounds like so much fun, Lindy. I hope you enjoy the time off with your husband. Good luck with the search for a new place. Do you have something in mind already? I'm sorry for all the trouble in your current neighborhood. I just love Ilona Andrews! Enjoy all your books, Lindy. Have a great week!

  5. What a nice party! Sounds like fun. I hope you find a better apartment. The search can be tough, but sometimes you fall into something pretty easily. Hope that's the case.

Oh, I hope you enjoy the start of Kate Daniels! The first book is the weakest, but every book the story just gets better and better! :)

    1. I wasn't fan of the first book, but I'm hoping the second will be better! I've heard it gets really good by the third book, so I want to stick with it :)

  10. Ugh, I'm SO sorry to hear how the neighborhood has been changing near you. We went through something similar here a few years back (theft, vandalism that eventually escalated to racist slurs on the road) before it abruptly stopped. Hopefully it eases up because it's just... not fun. Even when you aren't the subject of it, you know? My fingers are crossed for things either changing, stopping or you being able to leave for another (hopefully, better) location.

Here's to hoping you have a good week ahead! Happy reading!

  11. I am sorry to hear that your neighborhood is changing, really sucks when that happens. You definitely have to do what is best for you and protect your peace. Hope you find a better solution for you and your family.

And yay for Daisies...they are the most fresh and happy flower in the world.

I had a fun time with Jock Row and Magic Bites. Love me some Curran sexiness.

  12. oooh sounds like a move is in order. I recently had to move suddenly and it wasn't fun but we got it all done in a week. It was epic! I hope your week together is the best whatever you guys end up doing together. ❤️

  13. Sounds like a good menu to me!
I hope things go smoothly with finding a new apartment. I don't blame you for wanting to go somewhere else if you don't like the changes in your neighbourhood.

I have Reckless on my kindle too and I LOVE the Kate Daniels series (although book one is the one I like least, lol). I hope you enjoy your new books!
