GR's Summary:

The irresistible, blazing-hot sequel to New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams's Forgiving Lies.

Rachel is supposed to be planning her wedding to Kash, the love of her life. After the crazy year they've had, she's ready to settle down and live a completely normal life. Well, as normal as it can be. But there's something else waiting—something threatening to tear them apart.

Kash is ready for it all with Rach. Especially if all includes having a football team of babies with his future wife. With his line of work, he knows how short life can be, and doesn't want to waste another minute of theirs. But now his past as an undercover narcotics agent has come back to haunt him ... and it's the girl he loves who's caught in the middle.

Trent Cruz's orders are clear: take the girl. But there's something about this girl that has him changing the rules and playing a dangerous game to keep her safe. When his time as Rachel's protector runs out, he will turn his back on the only life he's known, and risk everything, if it means getting her out alive.

  Forgiving Lies Series:
My Review of Forgiving Lies HERE

My Thoughts:

When I finished Forgiving Lies, I had to get my hands on the sequel right away!  The cliffhanger just about killed me, and I'm grateful that I got to read Forgiving Lies and Deceiving Lies back to back!  I didn't think it was possible, but this sequel was just as good as the first book in the series!  I get to add a new series to my favorites list and a new to me author, as well!

Deceiving Lies was a gripping sequel, that hooked me and kept me on my toes from the very beginning to end of this magnificent story!  It backtracked a little bit from the first book as Rachel and Kash were planning their wedding.  These two were madly in love and couldn't wait to become husband and wife.  Rachel and Kash had been through so much in the past year and didn't take each other for granted.  Rachel ends up growing very close to Kash's parents and Mason's sister.  However, nothing can take away the pain of not having her parents.  As she plans the wedding, she can't help but feel really sad that her mother's not alive and able to be a part of such an important day in Rachel's life.  As she begins to think of her future, she struggles with knowing that her parents will not be around when she has children with Kash.

However, Rachel and Kash's life is turned upside down when she is captured by the Juarez Gang, who will not release her until all charges are dropped against the gang members that Kash and Mason were responsible for putting in prison.  Time is ticking, and Rachel is in very real danger.  Unfortunately, Kash is not allowed to be a part of Rachel's case, because he is too close to the situation, but that doesn't stop him from investigating on his own.  As time passes, danger sets in and Rachel has one allie, Trent, the man who captured her.  He is in love with her, and will do anything to keep her safe, but the rest of the gang is out for blood.

Deceiving Lies took me on a huge roller coaster ride.  This story was laden with love, passion, romance, suspense, and deep emotion.  I was completely hooked on this story.  It was hard seeing what Kash and Rachel had to go through.  Kash was filled with rage and worry.  He was willing to do whatever it took to get Rachel back.  He didn't care what he had to risk, she was his life.  Rachel lived in constant fear of harm and was worried that Kash would never find her.  She grew closer to Trent, as he was her means of survival. He befriended her and she realized that he was not a bad guy.  It was interesting watching her conflicted feelings.  I wanted to hate Trent, but couldn't help but like and feel sorry for him.

My Rating:

I give Deceiving Lies, by Molly McAdams, 5 Magnificent, Captivating, and Addictive Stars!  This series is amazing!!!  If you are a fan of romantic suspense, or would like to try out that genre, this is a great place to start!  I can't wait to read more by Ms. McAdams!

My Favorite Quote:

"There are still times when I stop dead in my tracks when I see you, and wonder how you're mine.  You're beautiful; and your fire for life and strength after everything you've been through, amazes me.  So if anyone leaves the other speechless, it's you."  (eARC, Loc. 3593)

About Molly McAdams:

Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

  3. Eeeep- is this a love triangle? Because I don't know that I would want it to be. Especially after having Kash and Rachel go through everything they did to get to that point. I'm quite wary of McAdams' books, after the Taking Chances/Stealing Harper one. LOL. The fact you gave it 5 stars though.... I'm sure it's great!
